There has been a lot written about this elegant and formidable fighter aeroplane. Hermman Göering himself said that to defeat the British he would need a squadron of Spitfires!

This machine was flown under the colours of a Polish squadron. These brave men accounted for numerous air to air kills during the battle of Britain. After the end of World War Two, those Polish aviators that returned to Poland became victims of Stalinist rule. Many faced a firing squad or life imprisonment.
Esta maquina fue parte de un squadron de Spitfires que eran tripulados por aviadores polacos. Su desempeño durante la batalla de Inglaterra fue insuperable, estos valientes pilotos dieron cuenta de muchos aviones de combate alemanes. Al final de la guerra muchos de estos aviadores regresaron a su nativa Polonia solo para covertirse en víctimas de el regimen procomunista de la Union Sovietica de Stalin. This model in 1/48th scale was issued by Hasegawa. It is a very good kit. The best I have seen in this scale. It was easy to build and finish. The colors used were Modelmasters RAF Medium Sea Gray, Dark Sea Gray and Dark Green. The propeller spinner and fuselage band were painted in Sky type "S".
Los colores utilizados para terminar este modelo fueron de la linea Modelmaster a como sigue: Grís oceano medio, grís oceano oscuro y verde oscuro de la RAF. El cono de la hélice y la banda de el fuselaje se pintaron con color cielo tipo "S".
