Ed's Scale Models

This Hasegawa kit is a good representation, but I wish they would upgrade their tool to today's standars. This is a really pretty bi-plane that deserves a good kit. I had a blast putting this kit together, especially making a whole bunch of details that were missing or poorly rendered.

Este kit de Hasegawa no es una mala representación de este hermoso biplano. No obstante como desearia que hasegawa lo remplazara con n kit con la calidad delos de hoy en dia! Me goze la construcción de este modelo en especial cuando comenze a fabricar muchas de las partes no detalladas o mal representadas.

I scratch built most of the cockpit details. The first thing that I replaced was the seat, and after that the seat looked too good so I had to enhance the looks of the cockpit to match those of the seat! What I loved in this kit is the petite rivet detail. I think it looks great! The kit's windscreen hat to go too! I made a new one using pieces of clear acetate and held them together with thin strips of aluminium tape.

La mayoria de los componentes de la cabina los remplaze con unos hechos a mano. El primer componente sustituido fue el asiento de el piloto. Este lucia demasiado bien entre el resto de los piezas originales de manera que decidi remplazarlos por otros de mi faabricación. El parabrisas que traia el kit estaba muy grueso y mal formado. Lo cambie por uno hecho de tres pedazitos de acetato transparente unido por tirillas de cinta de aluminio.

The rigging is very thin music wire. I considered using a monofilament thread, but I found it is a lot easier to rig the plane with stiff wire. I used a ø.010 diameter wire. I cut it with an abrasive disc attached to a rotary tool, as this hardened steel material is nearly impossible to cut with wire cutters. I drilled small holes where the wires would attach to the plane. A small drop of superglue holds the wire in place.

Los alambres de el enjarciado de las alas esta hecho con alambre de acero templado de un diametro de ø.010. Prefiero usar alambre rigido, pues es mas facil  de usar. Para cortar el alambre de piano utílice un disco abrasivo en una herramienta motorizada rotatoria. Es casi imposible cortar este material hecho de acero templado con un alicate cortafrio. Taladr pequeños agujeros en donde se unirian los cables con el fuselaje de el avión, una gotita de pegamento cyanocrilato asegura el alambre al modelo.
